Felecia Avila-Frayall

Founder

Felecia Avila-Frayall is proof that it is possible to pursue passion and fulfill purpose. Inspired by her own personal experiences as a teen, Felecia Avila-Frayall founded D.I.V.A.S. to mentor and impact the lives of at-risk or misguided teens.

As a student at Albany State University, this Atlanta, Georgia native's goal was to bridge the gap between local schools and universities. The focus would remain on helping mentees confront significant barriers outside of the classroom by providing each one with a family of committed volunteers.

A teen mother at the tender age of 15, Felecia overcame every obstacle presented by society. She continued to excel academically and graduated on time receiving her High School Diploma, and Principal's Scholarship Award from Tri Cities High School in East Point, Georgia. Immediately following graduation, Felecia attended the "Unsinkable" Albany State University, as a first-generation college student. Felecia served her student body through various leadership positions in the Student Government Association and as a member of the Delta Rho Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

During her tenure at Albany State, Felecia founded DIVAS in 2009 with the intention to share, motivate, and enlighten teens about life's realities through mentoring initiatives. In 2013, Felecia graduated from Albany State University with a Bachelors' in Middle Grades Education. And in 2015, Felecia received her Masters in Special Education from her beloved alma mater.

Felecia has been featured on FOX 31 News and WAEC LOVE860 AM, for her philanthropic efforts. This amazing wife and mother of three continues to bridge the gap between community and education.
